Lot 1. Lin Fengmian (1900-1991), Oil on canvas, signed lower left. Originally Lin Fengming, he was a Chinese painter and is considered a pioneer of modern Chinese painting for blending Chinese and Western styles, he was one of the earliest Chinese painters to study in Europe. He was also an important innovator in the area of Chinese art. 56cm x 39.5cm. £1,200-£1,800

Lot 2. RENÉ LALIQUE (FRENCH, 1860-1945)
A Pre-War 'Lunaria' Perfume Bottle, design introduced in 1912
clear glass, mould-blown body with a press-moulded stopper, frosted and polished with black staining; The scent bottle shows signs of regrinding of the decoration on the shoulder of the bottle. Possibly done in the factory.

Lot 3. Attributed to Raoul Dufy
Oil on canvas. A view of Venice, bares a signature and dated 1939 bottom center.
Raoul Dufy was a French Fauvist painter, brother of Jean Dufy. He developed a colorful, decorative style that became fashionable for designs of ceramics and textiles, as well as decorative schemes for public buildings. He is noted for scenes of open-air social events.

LePho
Vietnamese. Oil on canvas, signed lower right.
Lê Phổ (1907 – 2001) was a Vietnamese painter. From 1925 until 1930, Le Pho studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Hanoi. At this point, he earned a scholarship to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and he studied there for the next two years under the instruction of Victor Tardieu, a friend and companion of Henri Matisse. Upon returning to Vietnam he taught at the École Supérieure des Beaux Arts de l'Indochine in Hanoi.

Lot 191. A very fine quadripartite Russian icon
Scenes depicting St Sofia, The Virgin for those who suffer, Virgin of the sign and the three hands Virgin. The icon has two Saints finely painted on the border which were the patron Saints of the family commissioning the piece. Fine craquelure with insignificant later retouching. Inscribed are each scene and in the upper register.
